The Royds Trophy

The Royds Trophy is a pairs matchplay knockout competition contested annually by members of the IPAGs.

The trophy was donated by Nicholas Royds, founder of the Royds Advertising Agency and a long-standing member of the society.

The format is fourball better ball, played of 90% of the handicap difference from the lowest handicap in the group, with a maximum WHS handicap of 18.0.

Matches are organised at a mutually convenient date and venue for all four participants. The team at the top of the draw is designed as the 'home' team, and matches must be completed by the fixed end date for each round.

Entry cost is £25 per person / £50 per team. You can enter as a pair, or as an individual and we will find you a partner.

The semi-finals take place at New Zealand Golf Club in September, and the 36-hole final takes place at The Berkshire in October.

More information on the Royds Trophy, including the 2023 draw and a list of past winners, is available on the IPAGS website.
